Rustenberg Estate was founded in 1682 and is neatly tucked away in the in the shadows of the stunning Simonsberg Mountain in South Africa’s premium wine region, #Stellenbosch. There is pure magic at play in this world-renowned area, and the wines produced speak for themselves.

John X Merriman: 43.5% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Malbec, 7.5% Petit Verdot

Tasting note: The John X Merriman is a powerful wine that rewards aging. In its youth the wine is worth decanting and expresses cassis, black currant and dark fruits complemented with cigar tobacco and sour cherry notes. As the wine ages and its fine-grained tannins soften a softer more savoury palate develops revealing wonderful drinkability and tertiary complexity.

Stellenbosch Malbec: 100% Malbec

Tasting notes: In its youth the wine exhibits very attractive purple hues with dark fruit flavours, such as plum, blackberry and violets, along with pepper and tobacco. As the wine ages it will reveal a more savoury fruit profile.

Stellenbosch Shiraz: 100% Shiraz

Tasting note: This Shiraz has plenty of natural brambly red and black fruit on the well-defined nose. The palate is medium-bodied with a fine line of acidity, crisp tannins and expressive red berry fruit mixed with spice and cloves on the finish.
